step 1: users how to log in

Simcart limited keeps an active directory of all valid users. Each user got an access level which allow you to Edit, View only or change administrative functions of Reality App installed application
Your login details are kept the same as your login details on the active directory of your hospital, so when you change your login details on the hospital, that change will automatically update for Reality Apps.
Log in using your hospital username and password Your login will be connected to your customized user profile
Find the icon and log in
Use your own log-in and password
  • Find the Reality App icon and click on it to access the login page within your DHB
  • When your hospital login changes, log-in for Reality App also changes
  • This will take you to the landing page from where you can choose a patient
  • *in RR3, you can access data via your phone
Your user profile
Change your staff level and name
  • Your name, staff level, and modality/location preference are kept here (User profile)
  • Users with Admin rights can change this during the setup process
  • Admin-level users can also adjust Their View only / Editing rights
  • You can select your landing pages and Views
The Landing page
The list of patients in your list
  • It gives you the overall view of your patients and clinician-determined Case Loads
  • This also serves as a Home Page. You can choose your preferred landing page in your profile.
  • All functions can be accessed here, including selecting patients
  • * in RR3 worklists visible from your mobile app.

Step 2: users using the lANDING page

For most users, the Landing will show a list of patients based on your user profile settings. You can find your way from here using filters like Modality and Alerts based on your clinical need. You can choose your patient using the NHI list (NZ-specific). On all pages, you can organize your list of patients by RRT modality or Type of Diabetes (Diabetes View).
The LANDING can be set as per user preference, included in the user profile and preferences. The LANDING can also be organized (Filters) by Modality, Type of Diabetes, Ethnicity, clinician, and CKD status.
Within any patient list, you select patients according to the clinician associated with the patient. For example, the SMO1 list of transplant patients can be filtered by clicking on the top right section of your clinician of choice.
The landing page arranges patients automatically according to the RRT modality or type of Diabetes. Your user profile will determine the Patients on your Landing page. (RR3 will use your setting inside the filters and sort columns when selecting patients)
Renal Modalities
Patient list per RRT Modality
  • RRT = renal replacement therapy
  • HD = Haemodialysis RRT modality
  • PD = Peritoneal dialysis RRT modality
  • TPL = transplantation RR modality
  • CKD = Chronic kidney disease
  • All = all patients in the RenalReality database
Type of Diabetes
Each DM tpye listed on the top bar
  • The Red number next to each RRT modality indicates the number of Red Alerts
  • You can click on any of these numbers, and you will be negotiated to the actual Red Alerts
  • ** In RR3, Red Alerts recorded on a timeline
  • ** these Red alerts are customized to your profile
Choose your patient
Using the NHI of the patients
  • Using New Zealand NHI identifier
  • Sort and Click by name or NHI to select your patient list and preference
  • This allows you to be only One-click away from the Summary Page of the patient
  • ** In RR3, patients accessed via mobile app
There are 2 ways to navigate to a subspecialty. Firstly by clicking on the subspecialty abbreviations in grey font along the top of the screen or by clicking on the subspecialty written in a black font just above the list of names. The number of Red Alerts per modality is also demonstrated here. On the right-hand side, you can search for a patient using their Surname which will drop down as you enter the patient's Surname. You can also add a new patient here using the patient NHI. ** in RR3 Red Alerts will be sensitized to your user profile preferences and your Landing Page to your preferred RRT modality

step 3: users sorting lANDING pages

You can click on any heading and sort your LANDING in several ways. A simple click will take you through the options as follows: 1. Alphabetical order from A-Z 2. Alphabetical reverse order from Z-A 3. Click on "By" contains or start with to search by keywords This feature is available throughout Reality Apps. 4. By clicking on the Clinician name, you can sort your LANDING by clinician associated with the patient care
On all LANDING pages, you can select your patient using their surname. The drop-down list will show surnames, names, and NZ NHI numbers associated with your entry letters. This enables you to pick the correct patient to view and engage with.
You can manipulate the list of patients seen on your landing page using filters ** In RR3, you will be able to Click-and-Add patients to a WorkList for bulk entries (Bowl)
Sort list per clinician
Click on Clinician to sort by name
  • You can sort your LandingPage per Modality
  • Your chosen Modality will appear on top of the page in the top right corner
  • ** In RR3, this can be set per user and defined using the user preferences and profile
  • * in RR4, your patient list is accessed via an app
Add new patient
You can add a new patient
  • Click on the option "add a new patient"
  • Enter the NZ NHI number to search against the IBA demographics within your DHB
  • Details of the new patient will appear in the IBA database for you to add to RenalReality
  • ** In RR3, patients' addresses were also added
Choose patient by ID
Your patient via NHI or Name
  • The first column click via NHI patient number
  • Sort this list by clicking at the top and include any portion of the NHI
  • You can also choose the patient via a name search or name-sorting filters
  • ** In RR3, patients can be added to a WorkList

Step 4: users your personal caseload

Each patient is associated with a Clinician. The CaseLoad shows patient per Clinician. By clicking on CaseLoad at the top of the LANDING page, the patient list will appear for the clinician. The Clinician can be changed at the top left corner.
On the CaseLoad page, you can re-organize the patient list using several filters and sorting mechanisms. Lists can be sorted using location, modality, or ethnicity. You can also Sort the patient list per top menu items, like name, eGFR, Age, and Gender.
* in RenalReality version 3, the CaseLoad will automatically include the Last five patients you accessed on RenalReality
CaseLoad can be selected using the staff name and sorted per location/modality. ** In RR3, your last five patients managed will automatically be part of your CaseLoad

You can change the Clinician's name
  • Find the drop-down box at the top left corner and click on it
  • A list of clinicians for your DHB will appear
  • Click on any of the names, and the CaseLoad for that clinician will appear on the screen
  • ** in RR3 your CaseLoad include last5 patients
Sorting using Filters
Organise the patient list using Filters
  • CaseLoads can be sorted using the headings and filters at the top
  • You can filter certain patients using keywords from Column filters
  • Within your CaseLoad, the location filter is at the top right corner
Selection of patient
Using the underlined NZ NHI number
  • From all pages, including the CaseLoad, you can go to one patient by clicking on the NHI number in the first right-sided column
  • You will be directed to the Summary Page
  • Search by Surname remains on all pages
  • ** In RR3, your CaseLoad and WorkList split.

Step 5: users sort and select your patient

CaseLoad can be selected using the staff name and then sorted per location/modality ** in RR3 you can customize your preferences per Modality, Location and/or Associated clinician ** in RR3 only Red Alerts meeting your user settings will appear at the top of the screen next to each RRT modality
Any of the following headings can sort patients: 1. By RRT modality - this can be in 2 ways (the abbreviations on top or by GREEN tabs 2. By surname - use PATIENT SEARCH on the right-hand side 3. Sort your patient list by DoB, Gender, Age, dialysis access, or Transplant status
Patient selection can happen: 1. Patient Search at the right-hand top of the screen; as you click, names will appear 2. Add/Search for a patient using NHI - if the patient not in RR, you can add from DHB IBA 3. Click on NHI when correct patient is found - both name and NHI appear in the drop-down list
